Invitation to Discuss Forest Management, Old Growth, Community Expectations & Path Going Forward

People interested in how the Community Forest is to be managed in the future are invited to attend an information & preliminary discussion session on :

Wednesday November 30, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Legion Hall in Hagensborg Powerpoint presentation at 7:00 pm
&
Monday, December 5, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Moose Hall in Bella Coola Powerpoint presentation at 7:00 pm

Format is part formal and part informal. Information on the Bella Coola land base, status of old growth, habitat protection and timber harvesting land base will be presented. There will also be opportunity to view inventory maps and meet with Community Forest representatives.

It is expected that this will be the first of a number of sessions that will inform the development of a Resource Management Plan for the Bella Coola valley. We are hoping to get input on what a public planning process would look like.

Light refreshments will be available.

BCCFL has a standing, ‘open door’ policy whereby the public is welcome to view our plans or ask questions about the community forest at any time by contacting our office to arrange an appointment.
